Montessori educator Chandler Marburg has worked in childhood development for over 25 years.
After having spent her formative years growing up in the UK, the Philippines, and France, Ms Chandler returned to the US in 1978. Her education was through Waldorf Schools. After graduating from a small Waldorf School in New Hampshire in 1980, she attended the Boston Conservancy. Her passion for the Montessori method evolved after having both her children attend a small program where she observed the tremendous benefits of the Montessori philosophy.
In 1993, Ms. Chandler established and operated her own school, Palmetto Montessori in her hometown of Charleston, SC. In 2010, Palmetto Montessori merged with another school, and Ms. Chandler became director and music teacher. She is fondly referred to as “Ms. Cha Cha” by the school children. Ms. Chandler recently retired from Palmetto Montessori but continues to be involved teaching music at several Montessori schools and other early learning establishments in the Charleston area.
